Storyboard Tekst

  • Hi Jack
  • Hello Chris
  • Why is it red?
  • True, true
  • Is that the northern lights?
  • I think because it is coming from sun that's why it is red in colour
  • I think so
  • I wonder, how do the lights actually work?
  • Haha that's funny because I actually know the answer
  • First, charged protons and electrons from the Sun's surface are shaken from the Sun's gravitational orbit. These particles are moving at around 1 million miles/hour.
  • After 40 hours, the winds reach the Earth's magnetic fields and follow the force generated from the Earth's core into the two magnetic poles, the North and South poles.
  • Once they reach the atmosphere in the two poles, the particles collide with the oxygen and nitrogen atoms creating the magnificent lights you see at night.
  • The colours created depends on which atom is struck, particles colliding with oxygen atoms create green and red lights while the nitrogen atoms create blue and purple lights
  • Wow, that's really cool, thanks for teaching me this.
  • Anytime
