- "You can do this. Just make it to that Hole." (Dashner 328)
- "Hear that, Creators! We're coming!" (Dashner 328)
- *Griever sounds
- "There's at least a dozen of them. Maybe fifteen. They're just waiting for us!" (Dashner 330)
- "Whoa!" (Dashner 340)
- "You first, Teresa." (Dashner 340)
- After long discussions, some Gladers decide to follow Thomas, who came up with a plan to escape. He is going to lead them through the maze, to the Cliff, where the Griever Hole is located.
- "It won't let me enter the last word!" (Dashner 344)
- "Maybe you should just push that button." (Dashner 346)
- "Push!" (Dashner 346)
- After no sight of any Grievers, the Gladers finally reach the last turn before the Cliff. However, Minho stops them, looking terrified. There are several Grievers around the corner, waiting for the Gladers.
- "Let's get out of here. Right now. (Dashner 348)
- "You know what? Half might've died, but half of us shucking lived." (Dashner 348)
- The Gladers follow Minho and fight the Grievers while Thomas, Teresa, and Chuck make their way to the Griever hole. One by one, they jump into the hole. Alby, and many other Gladers end up getting killed.
- "Look!" (Dashner 351)
- Thomas, Teresa, and Chuck enter the Griever hole to find a tunnel with a computer. There, Teresa tries to enter the code while Chuck and Thomas fight off Grievers. They find a button, so they press it.
- The other Gladers enter the Griever hole and join Thomas, Teresa, and Chuck. They tell them that many died, but many also survived. With this courage and faith, they go through a door, hoping it is the exit.
- The Gladers reach a huge underground chamber. They realize that directly in front of them, a row of men and women sat, observing the Gladers. They were the people that sent them to the glade, the Creators.
