Then Washington crossed the Delawere river to Trenton and ambushed the German mercenarys over christmas. then Washington had another big victory in Princeton because he the Britsh troops. but then sadly America lost the battle of Brandywine, Wahington was trying to protect Phili but failed. Washington was not leading this battle in saratoga though, this battle was a turning point because they persuaded france to help them out
