  • Hello everyone I'm Jones, today we're going to discuss about ecosystems. Ecosystems are the structural and functional units of ecology in which living species interact with one another and with their surroundings. An ecosystem, in other terms, is a series of interactions between species and their surroundings. An English botanist named A.G.Tansley created the term "ecosystem" in 1935.
  • Why is ecosystem important? Ecosystems are interconnected communities of organisms and non-living substances. Because ecosystems are interrelated, each component is essential. Ecosystems that have been damaged or are out of balance can produce a slew of issues. Soil, sunlight and heat, water, and living species such as plants, animals, and decomposers make up ecosystems.
  • Now, We're going to discuss how animals interact. Animals have a variety of complicated interactions with one another. These interactions include competitive interactions, consumer-resource interactions, detritivore-detritus interactions, and mutualistic interactions. This allows us to better understand the role that species play within their ecosystems and how individual species can positively or negatively affect the species around them.
  • Now, we're discussing biotic and abiotic factors. A live entity that shapes its surroundings is referred to as a biotic factor. Aquatic plants, fish, amphibians, and algae are all examples of freshwater ecosystems. A distinct ecosystem is created by the interaction of biotic and abiotic forces.
  • And lastly the abiotic factors. Abiotic factors are non-living components of an ecosystem that influence its surroundings. Temperature, light, and water are examples of variables in a terrestrial environment. Abiotic elements in a marine ecosystem include salinity and ocean currents. A unique ecosystem is created by the interaction of abiotic and biotic forces.
  • Thanks for watching . On behalf of all of us at Channel 9, Once more I'm Jones and see you next time.”
