- I'm here to visit some of the prisoners, on behalf of my father, the minister. Let me talk to the prisoners, and then I'll come and talk to you!
- It's Sarah!
- The next morning, Abigail and I walked to the prision. I hid behind a tree watching while Abigail knocked on the prison gate. The guard's face turned red. He smiled at her and opened the gate.
- A different guard opened the gate and a young lady stepped out. As she walked away and turned the corner, I caught a glimpse of her face and my heart filled with joy. It was Sarah! The plan had worked!
- SARAH?!
- MICHAEL?
- I thanked Abigail and left the town that night. I didn't even know where I was going. I only knew that I had leave Salem and try to start a new life somewhere else, away from all the evil of my home town.
- I walked south from town to town. I lay down beside the road just as it started snowing. The snow started falling on my face and I would freeze to death. Mrs Rosa passed by with her carriage and they put me in the carriage and took me to her home.
- One day, just before Christmas, Mrs Rose and I went to the famous fish market in New Haven. I was pushing my way through the crowd when suddenly, I found myself face to face with Sarah! I stopped. We started at each other in surprise, the amazement.
- And that was it! We've been together ever since, almost 60 years now. We have three children and have had a happy life together.
