- Juliet: In line 12, Juliet is told
- Juliet: In lines 7-10 her hand is on her cheek, as described above. Furthermore, Romeo exclaims "She speaks but says nothing. What of that?" This reveals that Juliet is deep in thought since she says nothing, which makes Juliet have a thoughtful expression. Romeo: Romeo is currently not within Juliet's sight, and Juliet does not know he is there, as shown in the first 10 lines. He should be laid back and in admiration of Juliet, looking at her lovingly.
- Juliet: From lines 15-30, Juliet is talking to herself with no knowledge of the fact that Romeo is listening. To reflect this, she should act as if she is talking through something to herself, casually and thoughtfully. Romeo: In line 20, Romeo asks "Shall I hear more, or shall I speak at this?" During Juliet's self monologue, Romeo is deciding when to intrude and surprise his lover with romantics. He should be waiting and listening eagerly and patiently for the right moment.
- Juliet: At the second Romeo speaks, Juliet, in line 33-34, says: "What man art thou that thus bescreen'd in night so stumblest on my council?" Juliet is in shock that somebody is there, and should jump back with fright and panic when Romeo speaks. Romeo: Romeo is still hidden but now speaking to Juliet, eager to be in Juliet's company, as shown in lines 30-33. He should be talking to her from the sidelines, perhaps calling out to her to be heard.
- Juliet: As shown in lines 39-41, Juliet is trying to figure out who the unknown voice is. She should be pondering the voice, as if she is remembering something she has heard before. Romeo: Romeo should reveal himself to Juliet once his identity is discovered, as shown in line 41-42: "Art thou not Romeo and a Montague?" "Neither, if either thee dislike." Romeo should be ready and eager to profess his intense love for Juliet now that he is revealed.
- Juliet: Juliet should still be in visual shock and awe, not only because she is seeing Romeo again, but because Romeo is in danger of capture and murder by her kin, as shown in lines 43-46. Romeo: Romeo should be casual, brave, and charming, as shown in lines 47-50. For example, in line 48, "For stony limits cannot hold love out." This shows that he is not afraid and willing to do anything to woo Juliet.
- Juliet: Juliet should be slightly sad but slightly loving, since she deeply cares about Romeo and doesn't wish for his death, as shown in line 51: "If they do see thee, they will murder thee." She should have a serious yet loving expression on her face. Romeo: Romeo, being as witty as he is, continues to charm Juliet, despite the situation. His look should be smug and charming, as he uses his wit to win Juliet over.
