- In thunder, lightning or in rain?
- Macbeth! The Norwegians and the rebels run!The day is yours and Scotland’s.
- We must find King Duncan and bring him the good news!The battle is over - and won!
- Wait! How can I be Thane of Cawdor? He’s still alive! Andking, that’s just unbelievable...
- Not so happy ... yet much happier!
- Lesser than Macbeth ... and greater.
- And what about me - if you really can see into the future?
- Hail, Banquo!Your children will be kings.
- In this scene, the three witches decide to meet at the heath to meet Macbeth. The element of foreshadowing is portrayed as the audiences awaits to see what will happen when they meet with Macbeth.
- It is true, the battle is won. The rebels and the Norwegians have fled!
- So, my cousin, Macbeth! How can I pay the debt I oweyou after today?
- Your Majesty!
- Your Majesty! Serving you is its own reward, Your Highness!
- This is scene 2. Macbeth and Banquo are exchanging conversation while happy for they have won battle and want to rush home to inform their victory to King Duncan. Audiences awaits to see how the King will receive the news.
- Tomorrow
- King Duncan comes here tonight.
- You must welcome King Duncan when he arrives. Smilewith him. Look after him. But our guest must be takencare of tonight!
- When does he leave?
- This is scene 3. Macbeth and Banquo are having a conversation with the three witches who happen to prophecy their future.
- No. We’ll go no further with this plan. He has honouredme - as Thane of Cawdor! Can we not just enjoy that?
- When he finishes supper and goes to sleep ... that’swhen you do it.
- This is scene is 4. Macbeth and Banquo engage in a conversation with King Duncan who want to reward them for winning the battle. There is an element of foreshadowing in this scene as the King not aware of witches prophecy and Macbeth's lust for power.
- In this scene, Macbeth and Lady Macbeth plot to kill King Duncan. Again, foreshadowing is evident because King Duncan is unaware of Macbeth's plan. Audience awaits to see if the couple will be successful to kill the King.
- Lady Macbeth is trying to convince Macbeth that is the right time to kill the King. An element of irony is evident as Lady Macbeth is plotting to kill the King instead of celebrating her husband's new role as the Thane of Cawdor.
