I froze as the spider descended onto my desk. I tried to stifle a scream, but only a gasping croak escaped. I felt the sweat beading down my forehead, and I stopped breathing. Finally, as the spider began to crawl towards me, I knew I couldn't take it anymore. I jumped out of my seat and ran from the classroom.
