- They all runaway in terror
- All the boys from the school scatter
- A few days later salva joins a group fleeing the violence.
- Salva awakes to find the group left him.
- Salva joins another group
- Salva meets Marial and they become friends.
- Salva's uncle joins the group.
- Salva!!
- Uncle!
- Marial is killed by a lion.
- The group crosses the Nile.
- First day, desertSalva stubs toe and Uncle encourages him to keep going.
- Group encounters dehydrated travelers.
- Armed Nuer men loot supplies and kill Uncle
- The group arrives at Itang refugee camp in Ethiopia.
- 6 years laterEthiopian government falls andrefugees are forced to flee the country.
- Salva is adopted by an American family.
- Salva goes to school.
- 6 years laterSalva learns that his father may be alive and travels to meet him.
- 2003 to 2007Salva formulates a plan to bring water to Sudan.
- 2009Salva's crew brings water toNya's village.
