- So what do you all think, how does it form.
- Hello Class, today we will be learning about the formation of Petroleum.
- Ok students, you all have almost got it, I will explaing it to you all in detail.
- Ma'am I think we get petroleum from deep down the earth.
- No ma'am, I disagree, I think we get petroleum from decomposition of dead sea organisms.
- DEAD SEA CREATURES
- Tiny sea plants and animals which die get buried over the ocean floor and......
- PLANT AND ANIMAL REMAINS
- SAND AND SILT
- Over time the remains of the animals started going deeper and deeper. The sand,silt etc. settled on them and mounted pressure.
- SEDIMENTARY ROCK
- PETROLEUM
- Then after millions of years due to the intense heat and pressure the dead organisms/bodies have turned into petroleum.

- FORMATION OF PETROLEUM1. Animals died and ge buried up.2. Sand, stilit settles on them.3. Then due to heat and pressure, petroleum is formed.
