- Marco Polo is getting ready to leave Venice, Italy for Asia with his father and uncle.
- Marco is a merchant, explorer, and writer who is headed to Asia to travel along the Silk Road.
- Marco Polo is currently sailing the Mediterranean to get to the Middle East so that he can travel on land
- Marco Polo finally reached Kublai Khan's palace. Khan was impressed with Marco and made him an ambassador. He had special permission in the Mongol Empire. He also traveled for Kublai Khan and reported interesting facts for him.

- Marco Polo is glad that he has made it to Persia and can now travel on land.
- Marco Polo traveled through Persia, The Gobi Desert, Mongolia, China, and traveled along the Silk Road. The Silk Road is what Marco journeyed across since he had failed to find any boats.
- In China, Marco Polo interacted with the Mongol princess Kokochin and accompanied her to Persia. In Asia, they met the Mongol ruler, Kublai Khan. Marco Polo got to meet Ghengis Khan. Ghengis Khan was the founder of the Mongol empire.
