- I'm so upset. I really need a new car, but my credit score is low so they denied my request for a loan. I don't even know why it's low!!
- It's okay! There are so many ways to raise your credit score, so that you won't be denied a loan. One way you can raise your credit score is by budgeting better and paying your bills on time.
- It makes sense that that could affect my credit score negatively. I have paid a few bills off late, but what other things lower credit scores? I doubt that it is just that for me.
- Not paying bills on time is one of the main reasons why people's credit scores get so low. However, your credit score can also be pretty low if you just opened your account.
- OHHH!! That makes so much sense! I just opened it about two weeks ago. What are some things I can do to raise it?
- Along with never making late payments, you can also ask for a higher credit limit. When your credit limit goes up and your balance stays the same, it instantly lowers your overall credit utilization, which can improve your credit.
