- Back before any farming machines were invented, farming was very difficult and caused a lot of labor.
- Eventually, machines were made, such as the metal plow and much more. It made farm work a lot easier, and farms could sell more food than ever.
- The first farming machine, the metal plow, was invented in 1837 by John Deere and Leonard Andrus.
- These machines cost too much money for the small farms, but the bigger farms could afford these machines.
- Since the smaller farms couldn't buy theses machines they could not compete with the bigger ones and moved to the city to find work
- Because of this the population in the country side was decreased by a lot, while the city's increased
- Grandpa, I never knew that and your great-grandma's story is so sad. But I have to ask how this will impact the future.
- Ya dad, I never knew that. Charles, allow me to answer that question.
- Because of industrialization's effect on farms, it caused over 20% of the planet's pollution, more jobs for people, a lot more food to sell and the small farms can't compete with the big ones.
