- Grace was running on the track during PE class. While she was running, she tripped and scraped her knee.
- Oh my god! I just scraped my knee. I am bleeding. It hurts so much.
- Coach Mallard notices Grace's injury and assures that her body is actively trying to resolve the issue.
- Don't worry, Grace. Your body has received the stimulus and is working to help stop the bleeding.
- Coach Mallard, I don't understand. How is my body helping me?
- Grace is confused. She doesn't understand how her body is helping her.
- Good question, Grace. Your control center already is aware of what's going on and is currently putting your effectors to work to amplify the production of your platelets.
- Coach Mallard starts to explain how Grace's body is working to help with her cut.
- The platelets will clot the blood, so you can stop bleeding. You will slowly bleed less and less until you stop. This process is called positive feedback loop.
- Coach Mallard continues to explain to Grace how the positive feedback loop is trying to help her cut.
- Oh!! I understand it now. Thank you, Coach Mallard.
- Grace finally understands positive feedback loops and thanks Coach Mallard for explaining to her.
