- - All organisms are composed of one or more cells- Cells are the basic unit of structure and function- Cells come from preexisting cells
- Alright, everyone let's get seated so we can start with today's lesson. Today we will be learning the historical piece behind the cell theory, like who contributed in constructing it. For those of you who forgot what the cell theory is look up on the board.
- Cells:
- Now these are cells, something that we are all familiar with, but have you ever questioned who came up with the term 'cell'. Well we have Robert Hook to thank because thanks to his discovery scientists had a foundation to start building off of.
- Cell Structures:
- Now, I hope you all know what structures are most commonly found in cells. for example DNA, ribosomes, cytoplasm and etc.Let's take a look at who discovered the nucleus.Does anyone know who made this discovery?
- Yea, he was the first person to name and describe the cell's nucleus.
- I think it was Robert Brown
- The cell theory theory states that all organism are made of one or more cell and that includes animals and plants. Something that Theodor Schwann and Matthias Schleiden helped us understand.Theodor Schwann is responsible for the discovery that all animals are made of cells. While Matthias Schleiden is responsible for the discovery that all plants are made of cells.

- Where Do Cells Come From?
- And all of the credit goes to Rudolf Virchow, as it was he who came to this conclusion>
- Where do cells come from? Well, they come from preexisting cells, of course!
