- Developing the skills needed to be able to play basketball professionally usually begins at a young age. Joining local leagues and practicing weekly helps to obtain certain skills needed to become a professional basketball player.
- Scene 4: College Basketball
- It is important for young players to compete in tournaments or scrimmages to gain experience. Performing under the pressure of a crowd that may include their friends and family resembles a professional#160;environment.
- Scene 5: Getting Drafted
- Planning for a career at a young age begins with a discussion with parental figures about the right steps that are needed to be taken. This conversation may include certain sacrifices that need to be taken to become successful.
- Scene 6: Becoming a NBA Player
- Playing college basketball helps to further develop the athletic ability expected from professional players. Athletes expand their stamina and their ability to work as a team.
- Once a player showcases an adequate skill set they may be sought out by recruiters. These recruiters decide whether or not the players can get drafting in the NBA or other overseas professional leagues.
- Once a player has been chosen from a large pool of candidates they must sign a contract committing them to a team. As long as they still showcase their talent they will remain in rotation for the league.
