- "Couldn't we-kind of-stay here? Maybe the beast won't come near us."

- "I suppose you aren't pulling our legs?"

- In this scene, the twins think they saw "the beast." They rushed to tell the others, scaring them into thinking they're in actual danger. They start to discuss how they should deal with the problem and this arises the conflict they have with "the beast." (pg. 142-144)
