- In Ireland, potatoes are relied heavily on as a source of food. It was easier to grow potatoes in Ireland because of its soil. Many dishes included potatoes.

- haish....this place is so potato-less, my family is dying due to starvation and weird food that the British provide us with. I'm moving to the Americas for a better future! So long fellas.

- An organism called 'phytophthora infestans', Historically known as 'blights' ruined and infected the leaves and crops. Many potatoes were rotten due to this and it lasted for about 7 years. The infected potatoes were too hideous to eat
