Hi everyone! Today you will be watching "The tour of the Nile River" directed by Connie Hillenmeyer, Today I will, be touring the Nile with you and explaining some of the major benefits that people had if they lived near it in ancient times.

First we start in the Nile River. Two major benefits of the Nile were one, people could travel on it using boats and go to trading posts. Two, people in ancient times fished in it for food.

Another Advantage of living near the Nile River was that it provided fertile soil, which was good for growing crops!

Here we are inside of a house from ancient Egypt! This shows one of the advantages of the Nile because when the river flooded, mud spread out over the land. People from ancient times were able to make mud brick to build their homes.

The last advantage I will talk about today is papyrus reeds. They grew on the banks of the river and were used to make things like baskets.

Thank you so much for watching this film! I hope you learned a lot about the Nile River!
