- When photosynthesis happens it produces oxygen and glucose. Us humans breathe in oxygen and take in glucose when we eat food. When we take both oxygen and glucose it goes to our mitochondria and we release water and carbon dioxide.
- I think i'm starting to get it now!
- We unfortunately can't because we don't have chloroplasts in our cells.
- Plants also get food from photosynthesis! Plants have this thing called chloroplasts in their cells. They use light energy to make their own food.
- Well can we use light energy to photosynthize?
- Well how do plants eat? Because if we eat plants then what do plants eat?
- Fermentation is the process when you break down sugar molecules like glucose into simpler molecules. Then you can use the simpler molecules to make ATP, which is a type of chemical energy.
- There are 2 types of fermentation too! Lactic acid and alcoholic fermentation! Lactic acid fermentation happens when you use your muscles a lot. Alcoholic fermentation normally is used to make yogurt!.
- Well I have one last question since you know so much about this science stuff. What is fermentation?
