- Lord Baltimore, I would like to grant land to built an American Settlement in Maryland

- Thank you King James I, I shall grow a Catholic American settlement in Maryland. Hopefully many Catholics will take refuge here as we extend freedom of worship to all

- We must declare independence! And  also grant freedom of religion! No more big government bodies. 
- Pope Pius VI, we need a bishop in America! We fear that a foreign bishop will bring suspicion to the new republic. The priest have voted me as bishop
- Ok John Carroll, I will grant your request sometime this July. Establish an order in the US, as priests are running their own parishes.
- Due to the establishment of three new seminaries, the number of priests multiplied sixfold during the time of 1776-1815. The number of Catholics also rose from 30,000 to over 200,000 
- Maybe us Irish people should move here and cause the amount of Catholics to grow from half a million to three million in 1830 to 1860
