- Hamartia: Hamlet's fatal flaw is his indecision. In this scene, he considers killing his uncle, but decides against it. He continues to delay it, changing his morals and perceptions of the situation.
- Now might I do it pat, now he is a-praying.
- O' cursed spite! That ever I was born to set it right!
- Perepetia: In this scene, Hamlet turns from sorrow to revenge. He begins his quest to murder Claudius, and the main plot is set in motion.
