  • Did you know that there are two properties of matter: physical property and chemical property. Physical Property are those that can be observed through odor, color, mass, density, melting point, etc. While chemical property can be observed through flammability, toxicity, acidity, reactivity, etc. A good example are the pictures below!
  • Physical Property
  • Chemical Property
  • Physical changes in matter are those that can be observed without altering its composition. Some examples are: 1. BOILING POINT wherein liquid changes into a gas.2. DENSITY wherein it measures how compact the mass is without changing the chemical substances of the matter.3. COLOR which changes but doesn't alter the composition of a matter.
  • Chemical changes, on the other hand, can be observed when matter changes to become a whole different type of matter just like what we're doing now on the table. We are mixing different elements to form a compound. After mixing it, we get to have a different kind of matter.
  • How about chemical changes, teacher?
  • Lastly, there are different forms of energy but all of it fall into two basic categories: potential and kinetic energy.
  • Potential Energy is stored energy held by an object because of relative position, electric charge, or internal stress. An example of potential energy is a ball falling from this height.
  • Now, why are we here, teacher?
  • I feel like I learned a lot today, teacher! I am sure I can distinguish all matters by class now.
  • For our last lesson, I'll tell you what is kinetic energy. It is the energy of an object in motion such as the airplane behind us. Now, we have completed our lesson! How do you feel?
