- In Scene 3, Creon says repeatedly that Antigone is sentenced to death and it's going to stay that way.
- "Or to break my sworn word? No, I will not. The woman dies" (Sophacles 27-28)
- In Scene 2, Antigone is brought to Creon, and Creon sentences Antigone to death for burying her brother.
- "Or closer yes in blood--she and her sister win bitter death for this!" (Sophacles 85-86)
