- hi! I live in Rocinha. Rocinha is built on a steep hillside overlooking Rio de Janeiro, and is located about one kilometre from a nearby beach.
- Most of the favela is on a very steep hill, with many trees surrounding it. Around 180,000 people live in Rocinha
- in school we're learning about the great wave of migration from the countryside to the cities from the 1940s to the 1970s
- that was primarily responsible for the proliferation of favelas in Brazil.
- There is no clean water near where I live. I have to walk to the bottom of the favelas to get some clean water.
- On the weekends, i sell bags to earn extra money for my dad.
