- Captain James Cook studied astronomy ,science and math's he dreamed of commanding his own ship.

- James Cook was told to lead an expedition for England. He received a letter from the king he was told to only open it after his mission was complete.

- James Cook started preparing and for weeks, he studied and planed and calculated.

- James Cook was chosen for the voyage,the ship was sturdy and strong, he refitted and christened the HMB Endeavour.
- In August 1768, the Endeavour embarked on the maiden voyage. There was 55 sailors , an astronomer, 4 artists, and a botanist named Joseph Banks.
- When Captain cook finish his mission he open the envelope and there it said to venture south and in search of new land.
