We learn how Ulysses was born and what we was set out to do

We learn his preparation in part of him getting ready to survive on his own. Knowing the fights to come.

Ulysses found himself on an island with a large cave where a cyclops named Polyphemus lived, Polyphemus was a man eating cyclops and Ulysses found himself trapped in his cave.

After being lost at sea, Ulysses finds himself being lost on Calypso's island. Calypso was the daughter of a titan, and the only way Ulysses could get off the island is if Calypso willingly let him off the island

Coming back to Ithaca he found many suitors wanting to take his wives hand in marriage. His wife finally had enough and ordered a fight to see who deserved her.

After he won Ulysses reveled himself to his wife and reclaimed the throne of Ithaca.
