- "I could tell they could see the anger in my face, in my eyes." Ghost explains,eyes bulging from his face
- Ghost is being provoked by a guy named Brandon. Brandons antics are most of the time aimed toward Ghost. Brandon is commenting about his looks, where he lives and even took it one step further by throwing a chicken wing at Ghost.
- "Here, take this. Its my good deed for the day, feeding the hungry." Brandon states while snickering.
- character vs character(External)
- "... and if my insides were really black, at that moment they were definitely turning red." Ghost fumes, his eyes indicating trouble.
- Ghost is struggling with his self control after he has been physically provoked by a guy in his school. Ghost is durable but cant control his behavior sometimes.
- Character vs self(Internal)
- ".. when anyone asks about where I live, I get weird because people always treat you funny when they find out you stay in a certain kind of neighborhood." Ghost ponders, hesitating to answer coaches question.
- Ghost gets made fun of and treated differently because the place he lives doesnt meet their standards. Coach asked Ghost about where he lives, and Ghost hesitated but replied gingerly.
