- Byron got his lips stuck on the brown bomber. Everyone tried to pull Byron off of the car. Byron was freezing more and more. All the children started crying and Momma was pancking. After they freed Byron, Kenny nicknamed him the "lipless wonder".
- Climax
- Byron played hooky, He beat up Larry Dunn on the playground and scared Joey. He took advantage of his family's welfare food. He killed a bird too. He got in real hot water when he played with matches but Joey saved him from getting hurt by Momma. The last straw was when he got himself a mexican hairdo.
- Falling Action

- Dad installed the ultra glide to the brown bomber, and the Watsons went to Birmingham. Everyone was tired and uncomfortable but Dad put them all to sleep by making a vacume noise. Secretly, Dad was going to make no stops on the way to Alabama. When they got to Birmingham, they met Grandma Sands. To kenny's disapointment, Byron gave up without a fight.
- Resolution
- The day after Kenny was attacked by the wool Pooh, White people bombed the African American church. Kenny thought Joey was killed in the blast but really she had been led away by what she thought was him. kenny thought the wool pooh had Joey and was scared. That night, the whole family went home to Flint.
- Kenny became traumatized by the bombing and started living behind the couch. Since when he was little Byron had told him magic powers saved animals who got hurt and went back there, Kenny wanted the magic powers to make him feel good. He began to eavesdrop on his parents. Byron figured out what was going on and decided to get involved.
- Byron talked to Kenny and explained that he made up the magic powers and the Wool Pooh. He convinced Kenny to leave the couch and not go back. He explained Kenny had nothing to be ashamed of. He also said Kenny should be glad he existed. At the end, Kenny let Joey in to use the bathroom.
