- Alex's friend Mike goes missing, Alex decides he wants to go and find him in the forbidden forest outside of town
- falling action
- Alex sneaks out to the forest in the middle of the night, enters the forest and hears something in the distance and follows it into a cave
- resolution
- He finds Mike and the other missing people, the monster starts to come after all of them
- The escape the monster and finally make it out of the cave and realize the pond was now an ocean
- The real and much scarier monster is waiting to take them away outside the cave
