- The Greeks faced Persia in the Battle of Marathon. They also faced each other in the Battle of Thermopylae, Salamis, and Plataea. The Greeks leader was Leonidas, the king of Sparta, Themistocles, and Miltiades, the general of Athens. The Persian leader was Darius. The Greeks won using many great techniques. Once they won, the city-states of Greece became one united nation
- We must win the Battle of Marathon. We may be outnumbered but with this Phalanx and these weapons, we can win!
- Let's corner them using the passageway. Then they can't use Calvary against us.
- ATTACK!!WE MUST GET REVENGE!!! THEY DESTROYED THE CITY OF SARDIS!
- The Peloponnesian war ended at the battle of Aegospotami were Sparta was able to surround the Athenians fleet. Athens lost its democracy and had to pay 1000 talents of gold annually.
- You didn't free the cities from your control and now you must pay the price. If you don't surrender you will starve.
- Alexander the Great used all of the knowledge about Greeks religion, architecture, and other traditions and cultures. With this knowledge he ruled all of his cities in a Greek style. One of his most well known cities that he built like this is called Alexandria built in Egypt. With this he was able to spread Greek culture all over the Mediterranean area.
