- No way! Foragers and gatherers spent a lot less time searching for food and more time on art, music, and storytelling.
- Jack: "Well, agriculture is more reliable and a more controllable food supply. You have a better chance of not starving if you are growing your own crops even with droughts and floods.
- Well, it is not as practical because you have to change the environment of the planet in rder to keep feeding people as the population grows.
- With farming, you can create a food surplus, which can help sustain cities and support people other than just the farmers. This makes less work for everyone, because they do not have to worry about gathering their own food everyday.
- I guess you are right, and farming can be practiced all over the world.
- Exactly...All in all, it is more reliable and efficient than gathering and hunting.
- Ok, I guess that makes sense.
- Yeah, if hunting and gathering was more efficient, we would still be doing that today.
