- Hey guys, today I'm in the marvelous city of Timbuktu. Since this city is a city of commerce I decided to go here because I wanted to trade my salt and gold. As I was walking around I seen people spread ideas such as universities, the religion of Islam and the architecture.

- I'm back again! Mansa Musa how was your trip to Mecca?

- Hi, I took a pilgrimage to perform the hajj in front in 1324. While I was on that trip I spread the religion Islam and gave away gold to the streets of Cairo. I also brought slaves and men to embark on this journey.
- Griots/ Oral Historians
- Whats up guys! I came across a little village not too far from the city of Timbuktu. I found out that these people are called Griots. The Griots are storytellers that pass down stories from generation to generation. The Griots also spread songs and poems about their village throughout time. So the Griots are an important role in West African cultures.
