- this story is about a girl named Layla,she was born and raised in southern Sudan.before the war started Layla would run outside and play with her 2 little siblings the times she didn't have to do chores,She loved the outdoors and shes very brave,she will always speak her mind no matter what
- One day while Layla was playing outside with her siblings she heard gunshots,Layla reacted quickly,"Lia and Z get into the bush now!" she says to her siblings as she's pushing them into the bush.while their walking Layla spots a whole bunch of other kids without parents and some with parents.All Layla could think about was her parents and if shes ever going to see them again..
- Layla's POV: it's been a few weeks since the war started but it felt like years ,and it has been so difficult trying to find the refugee camp and watch over my siblings.we've only been eating a little bit of food and it would be lucky if we ate for 2 days in a row. we have come come across other people and they have helped us as much as we can but i hope we get to the refugee camp soon.
