- Christian was considering ending the misery of getting beat every day by the giant and wanted to kill himself. Hopeful reminds Christian of how far he had come on his journey and to stop now would be stupid.
- Maybe we should listen to the Giant of Despair and just finish the job.
- But what about all you have gone through. You fought Apollyon and went through the Valley of Shadow and Death. Were so close it is to late to stop now.
- Christian tells Hopeful that he found key in his bosom. Hopeful wants Christian to test it on the gate to see if it will work.
- I can't believe it. I found a key in my bosom.
- Well try it on the gate and see if we can leave this dungeon.
- We did it. The key worked and now were free.
- Christian and Hopeful escape and right something on a stone. They wrote how they were caught guard and didn't keep going straight on the path. They also wrote how they got caught by the Giant of Despair and how they escaped.
- We should write a warning about what happened so no one else falls into the hands of the Giant of Despair.
