- Oedipus' father Laius, the king of Thebes, was told his son that was born was going to kill him. When Oedipus was born, Laius tied his by his feet to a tree and leaves him to die. The guard couldn't let him die so he gave him to a passing by shepard who then gave the child to the king of Corinth, who then raises Oedipus.
- Oedipus then was eventually a prince. He was then told he had to kill his birth father and marry his birth mother, which is something he didn't want to do so he ended up running away.
- Oedipus ended up running to the city of Thebes, on the way there he crossed paths with his birth dad's chariot unknowingly and they get in a fight and Oedipus ends up killing the king of Thebes fulfilling the quest of killing his father.
- Oedipus continues with his traveling to Thebes, but soon encountered the Sphinx , who gave him and all travelers a riddle, if gotten right they can continue if gotten wrong they are killed and eaten. Oedipus got the riddle right and continued his journey. He then was told the person who gets the riddle right would become the king of Thebes and receive the queen's hand in marriage. Who unknowingly is his birth mother.
- Oedipus ends up marrying the queen (his mother) fulfilling the rest of the prophecy. Together the ended up having 4 children 2 daughters and two sons.
- Many years pass and through series of events, the truth comes out, that Oedipus killed his father and married his mother, and had children with her. The queen ended up killing herself and when Oedipus finds her he stabs his eyes out in distress. Oedipus the is exiled from the city, and eventually dies in Colonus.
