- Tom Driving Gatsby's Car
- Whenever heat is involved in any story, it creates conflict because heat makes people tired. As it was demonstrated in this chapter, the people like Gatsby, Tom, Myrtle, and George were getting mad and angry at one another.
- Tom driving Gatsby’s car creates confusion later on in the story, which leads to Myrtle getting killed. Tom drives Gatsby's car in the beginning and Myrtle see’s this when they stop to get gas. When the group comes home, they are all riding in their own cars again and pass by George's home. Myrtle mistakenly runs out into the street yelling for Tom in the yellow car but it was Daisy and Gatsby.
- Daisy hits Myrtle with a car. She had a choice of either wrecking another car along with the ones she's driving or wrecking Myrtle. She chose to wreck Myrtle causing her to die.
