- Princess Maddie returns to castle Araluen from hunting and finds out that she got in trouble with her parents and was grounded for two weeks. Later on Gilan calls on Halt and Paulina to talk to Cassandra and Horace Maddie’s parents about Will’s behavior after Ally’s death. As they talk, Halt realizes Maddie should be Will’s apprentice and Casandra starts to dis-believe his words.
- Climax

- Later on Maddie rides with RoseJean, her maid to castle Redmont to become Will’s apprentice knowing Will had changed. The next months will be tough as Will starts the training and soon Maddie gets to meet her new ranger horse Bumper. Maddie’s mistake was saying his code word Don’t kill me to Will and the horse master instead of to Bumper himself.
- Falling Action
- After Maddies training is good, Will and Maddie start to travel through Celtica because one of the rangers has died. In the field Maddie learns the news of the night stealer goes around but with the kids. So Maddie and Will take on the responsibilities of capturing him
- Resolution
- Maddie you can come home now
- Good Job Will
- Maddie and Will soon found the place where the bandits had captured the kids from Celtica. As they were there Will noticed that the leader of the group was Jory Ruhl, the guy who had killed Ally’s in the inn.
- Will was finally captured by Jory’s team after successfully saving the children from a lifetime of slavery. Jory Ruhl decided that Will would die the same way Ally’s died, in a fire. But later on Maddie was soon shot and Will had to stick his sax knife into her leg to retrieve the barb.
- There was a big celebration welcoming Maddie to the Ranger Corps as a pioneer (the badge). Even though Maddie was given back her title as a princess from her mom and dad, Maddie decided she wanted to continue the next four years of training knowing that it would be a challenge, leaving her mom in no words.
