- The Conventions of 1832 & 1833
- At these conventions we demand that we are able to immigrate to and form the USA. We are exempt form taxes for 3 years, and that we become a separate state within Mexico!
- Stephen F. Austin’s Arrest, 1833-1834

- We need to go to war!!!
- No we must keep the peace!!!
- Mexico isn’t quick to oblige which frustrates Stephen F. Austin, who was sent by the Texans to negotiate with Mexico. This creates tension as Texas waits for Mexico to do something, and they don’t.
- Stephen is getting frustrated with Mexico so he sends a letter to Texas saying that the Mexican government will say yes, and that Texas should already set up a government. This leads to the arrest of Austin. Texans get very upset at this and Mexico is upset with Texas for trying to set up a government without their permission.
- Based on the events two parties develop, thew War Party and the Peace Party. No matter what they do, Texans are upset with Mexico.
