- The next time Bodh Raj came, I took him to the godown. It was dark and smelly as though we had entered an animals lair.
- The mynah’s little ones are up there.
- But where are its parents?
- It's a Ganga Mynah, it isn’t usually found in these areas
- Bodh raj raised his catapult
- Must’ve gone in search of food. They’ll be back soon.
- Y
- Before I could stop him, there was a whizzing sound and the pebble hit the iron sheet of the roof. The tiny beaks vanished, it seemed as though they were scared. Bodh Raj was proud of his aim and rarely ever missed his shot. Bodh Raj seemed angry with himself.
- The shrill cries of the birds filled the room. I was a bundle of nerves. Bodh raj raised his catapult again.
- Bodh Raj paid no attention. The pebble missed the kite and hit the roof again. The kite peered down at us, almost looking like it was mocking us.
- Don’t hit the kite! It will attack you!
- Y
- But the kite will eat the chicks.
- Let’s get out of here.
- Y
- This sounded rather strange coming from Bodh Raj.
