- Lennie! You gonna be sick like you was last night.
- Tha’s good. You drink some, George. You take a good big drink.
- What’d you take outa that pocket, Lennie?"
- Ain’t a thing in my pocket, George.
- We gonna work on a ranch, George.
- God, you’re a lot of trouble.
- At the pool of Salinas River, George called and scolded Lennie and he said, "Lennie! You gonna be sick like you was last night. Lennie said, "Tha’s good. You drink some, George. You take a good big drink. So they both drank and enjoyed together.
- I like beans with ketchup.
- Well, we ain’t got no ketchup.
- George looked Lennie suspiciously and he said, "What’d you take outa that pocket, Lennie?". Lennie answered, "Ain’t a thing in my pocket, George. Then George found a dead mouse and threw it across the pool to the other side among the brush.
- When I think of the swell time I could have without you, I go nuts. I never get no peace.
- George, I don’t want no ketchup.
- George lay on the sand and he said, "God, you’re a lot of trouble." At the same time, Lennie followed george quietly to lie down together. He said, "We gonna work on a ranch, George."
- Let’s have different color rabbits.
- Sure we will. Red and blue and green rabbits, Lennie. Millions of ’em.
- When night falls, Lennie said, "I like beans with ketchup." However, George scolded Lennie and he said, "Well, we ain’t got no ketchup. You go get wood. An ’don’t you fool around. It’ll be dark before long." So Lennie disappeared in the brush.
- After that, Lennie felt guilty and fooly. He said, "George, I don't want no ketchup. George still stared morosely at the fire. George also said, "When I think of the swell time I could have without you, I go nuts. I never get no peace.
- Before they went to sleep, Lennie said, "Let's have different color rabbits, George." So George said, "Sure we will, red and blue and green rabbits, Lennie. Millions of ’em." So they dreamed of getting various rabbits for the future.
