- Hey honey, did you get your test results yet. I'm sure you excelled, like always
- A C-, You're so stupid Madison. You're suppose to be the smartest girl in school. There no way I can show this to my parents.
- Umm... no, not yet.

- Before you leave guys, don't forget to sign up for tutoring sessions. We will work threw and learn from each problem.

- There absolutely no way i'm signing up for that. All he's going to do is point out everything I did wrong and make me feel bad about myself. What do I look like anyways as the smartest girl in class signing up for tutoring.
- Madison is known for her good grades. She gets mostly A's and some B's. She gets An A on last weeks math test and her parents praise her. Madison decides that she doesn't need to study for her test coming up. she believes she was born with intelligence and she doesn't have to work for it.
- Madison's Teacher steps in
- Im going to be honest Mr Lay. You're a great teacher and all but, I wouldn't be caught in any tutoring session. I already feel stupid and going to your sessions will make me look more like an idiot
- Hey Maddison I noticed a change in your grade. Are you signing up for tutoring sessions.
- 2 Weeks later Madison gets her test results back. Its a C-. She rushes to the bathroom and cries. She is instantly discouraged. Madison does not handle this grade well, she beats herself up and hides her test score from her father.
- Madison Try's again
- I knew she could do it, I feel like a proud dad!
- Yesss! I learned from mistakes instead of running from them and I was able to improve!
- It was great. I learned that mistakes dont dictate my worth. They contribute to my growth and, lets just say your daughter is ready to take on life's greatest challenges
- Madison's teacher posts a tutoring sign up sheet for students that want to go over and learn from questions they missed. Madison refuses to sign up. She doesn't want to hear her teacher point out what she did wrong. She is also afraid that if her peers see her name on the list she will look dumb.

- Madison's teacher notices her extreme grade change. She checks the list and sees that Madison is not sign up for tutoring. The teacher meets with Madison one on one. He shows Madison the beauty in her setback. He tells Madison that failing is apart of learning. Her teacher also lets her know that her effort is valued and way important than the grade. Lastly, the teacher encourages Madison to come to tutoring and she does.

- But Maddie, you not an idiot
- I hear you Madison but, its not about how you look. It's about you taking your mistakes looking them in the eye and learning from them. Mistakes are normal, its apart of life. would you believe me if I told you I failed calculus before getting here. Had I not failed I wouldn't have learned to be the calculus teacher I am for you today.
- After multiple tutoring sessions, Madisons teacher allows for her to retake the test with new knowledge to show her the benefit of putting forth effort. Madison try's again and improves greatly.

- Madison now attends every tutoring session in order to learn from her mistakes and grow as a math student. She accepts her teachers feedback and takes on new challenges daily. She is no longer ashamed of the help she needs for she know it is a part of the journey.
