- What would you like to drink ma'am! To drink!
- Strawberry soda!
- Uhh... English please!
- Wonderful homogenous mixture and solution! Homogenous means evenly mixed so you will get the same thing each sip: soda!
- But you are...
- And soda is a solution because soda is made up of a solvent, the basic form of a solution, and a solute is what's added to make a solution! A solution is two or more substances in liquid form-
- I'm not here for a chemistry lesson!
- ...
- Here's your strawberry soda! Have you decided on your main course?
- Excellent exothermic example! An exothermic reaction happens when heat exits the source, and usually the surroundings get warmer. An endothermic reaction is the opposite. You can remember it by exo=exit.
- Uh yes, grilled cheese please!
- ...But you should!... SCIENCE!!! Anyway... Would you like some NaCl on that?
- NaCl is salt! Salt- NaCl is made up of 2 elements that are chemically bonded which makes it a compound! If it were just the same element that was chemically bonded it would be an element.
- I'll take that as a "no"- I'll go get your food.
- Excuse me???
- I don't really care!
- Why would I want salt on grilled cheese?
- Here you go!
