- where are you going ryle i wasn't done talking. we need to talk about this you cant just leave ryle.
- *a few weeks after the pan incident* Lilly ad Ryle are having a heated argument about something.
- Ryle feels his anger increase and he starts to worry he will hurt Lilly so he leaves mid-argument. lily obviously doesn't understand why he's leaving and thinks it's rude that he left mid-argument.
- im sorry lilly, you fell down the stairs when we were arguing. i checked you for injuries and you are fine just a minor bruise on the side of your head from the fall
- Lily follows ryle and tells him that they need to talk about things and that he can't just leave and come back and expect things to be solved
- he's right i shouldn't have followed him i should have let him go to get the steam off. he didn't mean to and he apologized its okay its a simple mistake. everyone makes mistakes right?
- Ryle i didnt fall, you pushed me. you promised this wouldnt happen again.
- yes i know i promised. lily im so sorry, you shouldn't have followed me out there. i left so i wouldn't hurt you im so sorry i was angry i really didn't mean it.
- Ryle realized that he pushed lily down the stairs out of anger. which is the opposite of why he left mid-argument. if she knows he pushed her she will leave him. he tells himself he was angry so that's why he pushed her. this is an act of abuse even if you're angry you shouldn't result in it with physical aggression.
- Ryle lies to Lilly and tells her that she fell down the stairs instead of telling her the truth, that he pushed her down the stairs. He is manipulating her after physically abusing her. in these cases the manipulator is usually aware of the victim's vulnerability. just lying itself to hide something is already a sign of a toxic relationship. the physical and mental abuse assures that this relationship IS toxic.
- Lily remembers that she didn't fall she knows he pushed her down the stairs. again, he manipulates her into thinking it's her fault. she starts to understand that what he did was wrong and that there is no justification to his action but then he makes her think it's her fault and she falls for it. she tells herself that he would never do this intentionally because he loves her and he wouldn't hurt her and that everyone makes mistakes and this was ryle making an innocent mistake because of her.
