First Relief: The rescuers reached the Donner Party at their camp where they were found starving and many were dead.

Second Relief: Rescuers reached the camps and found survivors who are weak but still alive, and evidence of cannibalism. A blizzard struck the camp.
Third Relief: Even more rescuers arrived and more people were found dead due to cannibalism. When the third Relief departed, several people were left behind to suffer.

Forth Relief: Rescuers finally arrived on April 17th and only found one survivor. In June, the general and troops arrived and they were horrified with all the human remains left due to cannibalism.
One of the very few survivors, Patriarch James, created a fruit farm once he reach California and settled in San Jose. In 1848, he struck gold and became very wealthy. He was the only survivor to make it in California.
