- Veve, its any food that you think I should bring to Johor?
- Farzanah, I suggest you to bring back amplang as a souvenir for your family at Johor. Its was Sabahan traditional food.

- Hey! Welcome back to Johor. How are you?
- Did you bring something for me?
- Thank you mum! I'm doing great so far and for you little one, I brought Sabah traditional food for you.
- Farzanah, what so special about amplang anyway?
- Well, first thing first the savoury fish cracker was very popular in Borneo. Actually, amplang is traditionally associated with samaunda, Indonesia but amplang is mainly produced in Sabah, especially in Tawau.
- Amplang was made with mackerel. Mackerel has higher protein compared to nuts. There is no food colouring, not greasy and easy to carry anywhere. Useully, a good amplang can last about a year.
- Now I get why you like to brought amplang everytime you comeback. We can eat this at anytime.

- That's right! We can eat amplang during a celebration, during a tea time or doing any assignment like what I do right now.
