- Father, I want to marry Teang, we are loving each other.
- But my son you're both too young to be married. Raising a family is a great responsibility.
- Father... Mother... I have my own family now.I am already a father.
- The sun was salmon and hazy in the west. Dodong thought to himself that he is already old enough so he would tell his father about marrying Teang when he got home, after he had unhitched the carabao from the plow, and let it to its shed and fed it.He's only seventeen years old. After a sumptous dinner, he spills out his plans to his father. His proposition is met with hesitation and discouragement.
- When he told his plan, Dodong's Father looks like he disagrees that made Dodong mad but then confused. He asked for his Father to tell his Nanay about his plan. Even though his parents disagree they still gave what Dodong wants.They agree to his wishes and grants him the permission to marry Teang.

- After nine months,Teang gives birth to her first son, Blas.Dodong experiences a whirlwind of conflicting emotions during the birthingprocess - confusion, fear, discomfort, embarrassment, and guilt. Little by little he realized why his father argue about his early marriage. He looked at the pregnant woman, Teang. He got scared of the responsibility of being a Father.
- My son Blas do not rush on everything. Love has its perfect time. Don't marry too early, raising a family is a great responsibility. Enjoy life first as a teenager.
- Years have passed and Blas was not Dodong’s only child. Blas is followed by six more children. Dodong didn't want any more children, but they came anyway. This makes him angry at himself sometimes. The parade of children is also taking its toll on Teang. She often wishes that she's not married.
- Teang thought of another suitor before, that is still childless until now. She wondered if she had married Lucio. Dodong whom life had made ugly.Blas is eighteen years old. One night, he tells his father that he wants to marry his girlfriend Tona.
- Like his father before him, Dodong doesn't want Blas to marry as he's too young. He knows what's going to happen if Blas marries too early. He gives him permission to marry anyway. But he does so with sadness in him.Dodong looked wistfully at his young son Blast in the moonlight. History repeats itself he insists that he's already old enough to marry Tonya. He felt extremely sad and sorry for him.
