- Rue and Katniss form an alliance and work together to heal their wounds and collect food, but Rue gets suddenly stabbed and killed by a boy, who is quickly shot and killed by Katniss
- Katniss and Peeta make their way to the pond to kind and kill Cato, only to find him running out of a forest, being chased by muttations made by the capital out of the old tributes' bodies.
