Banquo informs Macbeth that he is gone riding with Fleance and will return before the state dinner. Banquo and Fleance will be killed in an ambush by two murderers, according to Macbeth.
Act 3 Scene 4
You, Banquo's ghost, cannot accuse me of killing you. Gentlemen rise, his highness is not well.
Due to all the wrong things they have done, LadyMacbeth and Macbeth do not feel like they are allowed to appreciate their royal status. Lady Macbeth makes an effort to encourage Macbeth. Macbeth continues to be corrupt, and he hides Banquo's murder from his wife.
Act 3 Scene 5
Hath been but for a wayward son, Spiteful and wrathful, who, as others do, Loves for his own ends, not for you. Will come to know his destiny.
The two assassins discover that Macbeth has hired a third assassin to help them in ambushing Banquo and Fleance. Murdered Banquo, but Fleance manages to escape.
Act 3 scene 6
The murderers go back to the castle and tell Macbeth of what has happened. When Macbeth arrives back at the state dinner, there are no open seats. Only Macbeth can see that Banquo's ghost has taken the last seat. Frustrated by the ghost, Lady Macbeth makes their guests leave.
The three witches have Hecate upset because they interfered with Macbeth's life. She makes the decision that they must end Macbeth's life by convincing him that he is invincible.
Lennox and a lord discuss the previous events. They come to the conclusion that Fleance murdered Banquo, Duncan's son murdered Duncan, and Macbeth is not a moral man. They also disclose that Mcduff and Malcolm have traveled to England to gather an army in preparation for an invasion of Scotland.
