- What are these shoes?
- I've never been to camp before so I pick to go to camp
- You can go to jail or go to camp green lake
- It's so hot and I'm not even close to being done with my hole
- Stanley was walking home from school when a pair of shoes hit him on the head. Then he thought his dad can repair the shoes so he runs home but a cop arrests him for stealing the shoes
- I'm coming Zero!
- He is taken to court and the judge told him he can go to jail or go to Camp Green Lake and Stanley picks to go to Camp Green Lake
- Don't worry boys we'll get you out of there!
- When Stanley gets to the camp it was burning hot and one of the adults Mr. Sir tells him he has to dig a hole every day and can't be done until it's 5 feet deep. He also meets another boy named Zero and he teaches Zero how to spell and write.
- Your father had made thousands by creating a foot odor remover
- A few days later Zero runs away because he didn't want to dig any more holes so he ran away into the hot desert. Stanley stole a water truck to give to Zero but he crashes it so he walks to distant mountains to get Zero thinking he is there.
- He finds Zero and is able to find water in the ground of the mountain and takes Zero back to the camp before they fall into a hole with lizards so they had to stay still for a whole day before Stanley's lawyer comes to take him back home and they take Zero with them
- Stanley's lawyer tells Stanley that his father had invented that removes foot odor and that his father had made thousands from it. The camp also gets closed and is changed into a girl scout camp due to knowing that the camp was really just digging holes.
